I started out writing only Marauders, but now I'm really getting into Next-Gen.
So any questions at all, about writing, about life, whatever, just let me know.

So Jack, a lot has been going on in the past month or so. You're slowly but most definitely sure becoming the author to look out for on HPFF? Creative stories and vibes seem to just...flow out of you, is this at all how you expected it to be?
How does it make you feel to be one of the megre amount of males here on HPFF? Is it awkward, special or pretty much the same? Has that situation encouraged you at all to push a little harder to make a statement for the males of the harry potter fan fiction world? I know I would certainly be trying my hardest. (rofl)
Now your ideas, all of them original, all of them genius. Where do they come from and how do you go about tackling that massive leap of transfering them from mind to paper? Is there any set regime you like to follow?
Well folks, that all for now, we'll be back with more from Jack Flash after the break!

I am? -blushes- I'd like to think I was getting better, but the author to look out for?
Is it how I expected it to be? No, not at all. I'd been reading fan-fic for a while, and had some
ideas I thought were pretty cool, but writing is another thing altogether.
Yeah that's totally true, it's not something I think all that much about to be honest. The way I see
it we're all just having fun, no big deal if I'm a guy or not. The one major difference I think it makes
is in the writing though. Especially the Marauders. I find a lot of fics tend to just go majorly
fangirly over Sirius and James in particular. So I've stayed away from that side of things.
Also it means I have a bit of a better understanding as to what would have been going through their
heads about girls, life etc.
-Dies from flattery- Well the reason I actually started writing was I was just seeing so many cliche stories, just
over and over again. So I really really try and take my stories into different places. Actually starting to write was
the hardest part by far. No set regime really, I actually write well when I'm unbelievably tired.
I also tend to write in big chunks, like 1000 words at a time.
Umm...yeah that's about it. Thankee Rosie Posie!
Anything else you want to ask, you know where I'll be XD

Alright, I have a question for you.
Do you write non-fan fiction, or do you like to stick to JK's world???
Also, when/where/how did you first realize that you could write fanfiction and put it online... I mean, what was the catalyst?? (yes, I saw that word in your Teddoire and have been itching to use it ever since...)
Cheers

Okay yes, absolutely. Politics/International Studies is pretty much my thing. So essays about China, Israel/Palestine, weaknesses of the U.N etc. etc. I write a lot of. Apart from that I pretty much stick to J.K
Hmm...it's a good question. I guess I had just been reading for a while and was getting frustrated with seeing a lot of the same Marauder stories over and over again. All slightly different, but pretty much the same. I was so nervous when I posted that first chapter, you have no idea. Because in my head I was all oh I can do better than that. But then when you're actually putting it out there...
So no particular catalyst I guess, just a long build up and my own ego combining haha
Oh you read my Tedoire? What did you think? Am very curious as it was my first go at non-Marauder stuff. And you know my Marauder stuff better than anyone.
Thanks for your questions! XD

The Tedoire's great, I think it's my favorite so far... actually, it's a tie with Paint it Black, which was also really good... (ponders). I've yet to review...
Your writing sounds interesting... I was thinking, oh yeh, I once wrote a short story about blahblahblah, but what you said was much better. I wish I could say something as interesting, but alas! I once tried to get a job as a volunteer journalist, but that kind of failed *more chuckles*
So, what (in your oppinion, obviously) are the main weaknesses of the UN? I'm not very familiar with it apart from some study of it's creation in history class... Is this spam??
Cheers

Haha that's such an impossible question to answer in a short space. The main one in my opinion is the veto
that the permanent members of the Security Council hold.
Anyway I'd love to see what you thought of the Tedoire, writing Next-Gen makes me nervous =/

I just finished reading your Lily/James story, Finally (
1. Do you think you will write another story in first-person female?
2. You said you started out writing Marauders and then went to Next-Gen (I was the same way), Is the Marauders' era your favourite to read? To write? Or was it what just flowed the easiest?
I had another, but it has completely slipped my mind in this late hour I am up!
xx.

Haha yep, it's called Finally, I saw your review and just responded =]
1. Do you think you will write another story in first-person female?
Absolutely. In fact, I already have! It's called Songs of Calico, if you click on my signature it will link you there.
It's a Lily(II)/ OC novella. Surprisingly I don't find it that hard to write as a girl, certain parts are difficult, but at
other times it comes fairly easily. All of my other stories have been in the third-person though, so partly I use
it as a way to challenge myself as a writer.
2. You said you started out writing Marauders and then went to Next-Gen (I was the same way), Is the Marauders' era your favourite to read? To write? Or was it what just flowed the easiest?
Great question. Yes, the Marauders has always been my favourite era to read. I mean it has James/Lily for one thing! But also the complexity of a character like Sirius, how Remus would deal with his lycanthropy, Peter, what caused James to finally grow up. I started writing it because I was getting annoyed with all the cliche Marauder stories, where Peter was ignored and pretty much replaced by a female OC etc. But also yes, it just flowed the easiest. Partly because as a guy I could relate to what the boys were going through.
If you have any more questions please feel free to ask, I loved answering them!

So much praise, um so first just thank you. And I'm so, so glad you're enjoying them.
Haha I love those questions too, I've been waiting for someone to ask XD
1. favourite character?
Well, it's a close tie I have to say between Lily and Sirius. Umm yeah probably Lily.
How most of the girls are like about Sirius, I am about Lily haha.
2. favourite character to write?
It's a tie between Sirius, Lily and James.
Sirius because he's such a complex character to
write properly. A lot of people write him as some playboy, but to me that seems unthinkable.
He would have so much emotional baggage from the whole deal with his family, I find it hard
to see him with any girl at all.
Lily because I imagine her as this complete raging hardcore
feminist who also happens to be super hot and super smart. She's kind of like the ultimate
Mary Sue, except one you don't hate.
James because of the transformation he must have made during Seventh Year. From the
spoilt, bullying often cruel person to someone Lily loved...must have been pretty special.
I don't imagine he was every completely bad, he had a good heart, but to those he would have
felt beneath him I imagine he wasn't nice.
3. favourite story/author?
No question about this one. Match and mental. Absolutely fantastic. The characterisation is mind-blowing.
And Ze/Sirius is the most amazing ship I've ever read.
4. most deranged plot bunny you've thought of?
Oh wow. I've only been writing for a couple of months so nothing too insane just yet.
My ideas have tended towards the very sane, or at least plausible. I did think of having Sirius and James
kidnapping some Death Eaters daughter, who just happened to be ridiculously good looking, and just
happened to fall in love with Sirius, before their love was cruelly torn asunder.
-smirks at own idiocy-
Now a question for you. Which of my stories was your favourite and why?
Thanks by the way, that was fun XD

Now to answer:
1. what compelled you to write a remus/narcissa?
Umm...good question. It was just an idea that sprang into my head one night. It's an obscure ship that I honestly can see happening, at least at Hogwarts anyway. I think Narcissa isn't entirely bad, as seen by the whole thing with Harry in the forest in Deathly Hallows. Obviously it could never be a long term thing because of her familial obligations and stuff. She isn't bad, but she is weak.
So this was just an idea I had of a...well I don't want to say Romeo/Juliet story but it is along those lines.
And it's just funny the idea of Remus having this thing with Narcissa, then marrying her niece. Could be one of the reasons he had such strong reservations hahaha =]

1. Who/what inspires you write? Do you mean what inspires my writing? It depends on what I'm writing really. Largely it's music. For example, Paint It Black was written listening to the song on repeat. The general plot for Ramshackle Day Parade came out of listening to that song by Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros. On the other hand, Rise, Songs of Calico, Finally and Just One Night have come straight out of my head with no specific influences.
2. Fav hp ship? Lily/James hands down. It's the most amazing and yet tragic story. It offers so much to a writer as well, the love/hate, humor, symbolism (brightest flames burn fastest) etc. Oh, can I count Ze/Sirius from Match? That was/is the most adorable thing ever.
3. How long have you been writing for? Not long actually. Well Politics/English/History essays for the last 4/5 years. Fan fic and creative writing? Since late November-early December?
Hope that answered your questions, if you have any more, please ask! I love answering them XD
