Hi smile.gif
I'm Erin and I've been writing HPFF for I think over a year now though this is my first MTA topic tongue.gif I make a point to only write one long novel at a time because of time constraints and school but I often have one-shots as well.

I haven't been able to write an OC story yet but hopefully, soon I can manage that. For now, check out my author's page and ask me any questions you want!

Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about this thread!
OKAY OKAY! REPLY TIME!

what is your favorite ship?
I really like to write dramione *dodges all the rotten vegetables being thrown at me*
Ron and Hermione ARE my favourite ship but writing dramione is, I think, so much more satisfying.

who is your favorite character?
I can't really just pick one so I'm going to pick three: Snape, Sirius and Ron. The first two because they're so well-written and there's so much more to them that you can feel from reading just what JKR tells you and the last becasue he is so consistent as a character throughout the series and so much fun to read

who is your favorite author on the archive at the moment?
I'm going to go with the popular vote and say Violet Gryffindor but her writing is so amazing. She's written a bunch of ships that I don't usually think of but when you read them, you just feel as if they were a part of the series. READ HER STORIES!

what is your favorite story of yours that you have written?
Favourite story... hm... I guess I like Lady Malfoy, just because I actually planned it out and my writing has improved since I first started. But I wrote a one-shot earlier this week and I'm very proud of it.

what inspired you to write Lady Malfoy?
I think it was the scene of
Spoiler
. It just popped into my head when I was making a banner and then I thought I should write a one-shot but then that obviously wouldn't worked. So I forced myself to come up with a plot and incoporate the aforementioned scene AND one that will be coming in two chapters!

how long does it usually take you to write a chapter in Lady Malfoy?
LOL. I am such a terribly inconsistent writer. Sometimes, it takes me like a few days and other times (like now, when I'm stuck in a rut) it can takes weeeeeeeeeeks. Ew, I know.

in Lady Malfoy who is your favorite character to write about and why
Transitioning Draco from mean to nice makes it a hard for me to write him and I'm always so worried that Hermione's going to sound like a whiney little baby. Cassius is FUN to write because I totally get to make up stuff about him and just go with it but he has some stuff hidden away and until I can sort that out and "reveal" it, it's kind of hard to figure out what I should or should not write. Eli is... well he's Eli. He's important but he's not central, and I really like his heart to hearts with Hermione so that makes him pretty fun to write too. I think overall though, Cassius wins just because he's my own character and I am really excited to write his part of the story.

Hi Erin, big fan of Lady Malfoy. I have a few questions for you!

1. Cassius is an interesting character, how did you come up with him?
2. Why do you like writing Draco/Hermione romance?
3. Do you think Hermione and Draco could really have a relationship, based on canon?
4. We're dying to know Cassius's past, is the big reveal soon?
5. Will Lady Malfoy have a sequel?

Thanks! Posted Image

I should get an award for latest replies >__>

1. Cassius is an interesting character, how did you come up with him?
Honestly, I can't even remember but I will let you in on a little secret: I write a lot of my story as it comes to me. I always had a central plot but now that I think of it, my original story was SO simple compared to the complicated web I've ended up writing. Originally Cassius was just supposed to be the 'other guy' but then I ended up adding Natalie into the mix and things got very complicated from there on. I do remember that I wanted to name him Cyrus but it seemed like a really 'weak' name for such a powerful character so I ended up looking through a bunch of Roman names before picking Cassius.
2. Why do you like writing Draco/Hermione romance?
I really like the love/hate relationship that goes on there or at least, the fact that they don't like each other at the beginning but at the end of book seven, there's this mutual respect that you see between Draco and the trio. Dramione is a little more complicated. When I write Ron/Hermione or Harry/Ginny or even Harry/Hermione, I feel like I'm forcing a conflict into the story and I make it really plot driven but for dramione, it's purely character driven. And in Lady Malfoy, I've got this thick plot going on but the conflict between Draco/Hermione remains character based and that makes it really fun to write. The getting together is the interesting part of dramione and I'd like to think that I try my best to make it as un-cheesy as possible but I guess you guys are the better judge of that Posted Image
3. Do you think Hermione and Draco could really have a relationship, based on canon?
I've been writing Lady Malfoy for two years and so I sometimes look at the Harry Potter books and have to remind myself that Dramione isn't a canon ship XD But their relationship is based on the fact that they're on opposite sides of the battle and there are many stories in our literature that have opposites attract =) Should they have gotten together in canon? Nah, Ron and Hermione deserve their happy ending.
4. We're dying to know Cassius's past, is the big reveal soon?
IT'S COMING SOON! Like I said before, Cassius was supposed to be a small character named Cyrus and I ended up making him such a huge part of my story. I'm really excited for you guys to find out his history though- it should be pretty surprising!
5. Will Lady Malfoy have a sequel?
The million dollar question.
haha, I've been thinking about this for a while now as my story's starting to come to an end. I originally wanted to have a sequel but then I ended up merging my sequel into the current story so I guess we'll see what happens. I do have a bunch of ideas but I can't talk about those until a few more spoilers have been revealed.

Thank you for the questions! I really like talking about the processes behind Lady Malfoy because it's been over two years now and I don't realize how much I have to say until I start typing =D

I'm reading and very much enjoying Lady Malfoy =)

Do you listen to music while you write? If so, any in particular?
