Hey i'm such a big fan of 'The Demon in Me', I haven't got around to reading your other fics yet but i'm sure i will eventually.

Ok so questions;

1) You use songs as themes for your chapters (all good songs too i should add). Do you specifically pick songs out to use and work the chapters around the song, or do you already have the idea for what the chapter is going to be about before you chose the song?

2) You're Draco in TDIM is quite dark, is it difficult to get into his troubled mind when you write?

3)Who is you're favourite character in TDIM? Who is you're least favourite character?

Hey Lalaland7! Hooray for being my first post! (I feel as if I should get you a prize or something! Perhaps a fic or chapter dedicated to you?)

Anyway, I'm really glad that you are enjoying The Demon In Me as much as you are! I never really thought that it would become quite as popular as it did. But I'm still thankful none the less! Anyway, let's get onto answering your questions, shall we?


1) You use songs as themes for your chapters (all good songs too i should add). Do you specifically pick songs out to use and work the chapters around the song, or do you already have the idea for what the chapter is going to be about before you chose the song?

I think it varies actually. When I first started writing The Demon In Me, I was just listening to my iTunes when Five Finger Death Punch came on. I had already been tinkering with the idea for writing another fic (The Demon In Me) when I just felt like, "Hey, maybe this could be kind of like Draco's thing." But now, I open up my iTunes, reread the previous chapter I have written and start writing. If there is a particular song that really inspires me to put something down I'll check what it's called, and voila! The new chapter has been named. Sometimes they are premediated, others are not.


2) You're Draco in TDIM is quite dark, is it difficult to get into his troubled mind when you write?

In the beginning, when I first thought of the concept of writing a fic for a Dark Draco, it was. If you've ever read my Feelings series, they're not that in depth or that dark. So I had to put this story on hold for quite a while. Like I said earlier, it wasn't until I heard Five Finger Death Punch that I was actually able to capture the mood that I wanted for this story. Now, things aren't that difficult. The more in depth I get with him, the easier it is to see where he goes. The past Draco's that I've written were pretty sappy, and I have to be pretty keen to make sure that that doesn't happen to this one.


3) Who is you're favorite character in TDIM? Who is you're least favourite?

I'd have to say, that as of right now, my favorite character has to be Draco, but Hermione comes in a close second. Again, it's with the fact that I've really made his character my own and, from the feedback that my readers have given me, true to canon. He's a bit of a tricky character with a not-so-nice past but in the end he'll figure it all out.

My least favorite, again as of now, would have to be Ron. He hasn't really been that great of a friend to Hermione and will probably be acting like a prat again in future chapters(spoiler? ).


4) Which has been your favourite chapter so far?

I'd have to say Behind Blue Eyes, not only for the amazing snogging session they had, but because we actually get to see Draco vulnerable. We see that crack in the wall he's built around himself beginning to form. But only time will tell and reveal the true person that he is deep inside.


5) Which has been the hardest chapter to write?

I would have to say Ignorance because this is where we see more of Draco's conflicting thoughts. He's beginning to doubt not only himself, but the side he's on. Of course because of his pride he won't turn over for help, but it's tricky trying to write about someone who is your complete polar opposite. Hermione, to me, is not much of a challenge. She merely reacts to the things that Draco does to her, there is no instigating (that'll change later on in the story though). But really trying to capture the essence of what I think Draco should be, that's the hardest part.


6) Which was your favourite HP book and why?

Alright, confession time. At first it was Prisoner of Azkaban, then it went to Order of The Phoenix, to Half-Blood Prince, and of course Death Hallows. But I think that as of right now, my favorite has to be Half-Blood Prince and not because TDIM follows the plot closely. I actually love it because you can feel the weight of the war beginning to wear down on everyone, not only that but you see the growing relationships that the Trio faces. Not only do they have to deal with helping Harry defeat Voldemort, they also have to deal with pubescent hormones! Seeing normalcy even in a time of darkness is always refreshing. It also doesn't hurt that Draco's character became more in depth. :yes:

It was no problem for me. I'm more than glad to answer any questions that you or any other readers have for me! All you have to do is just ask! Anyway, onto your questions yes?


Do you know how long TDIM is going to end up being?

To be completely honest I really have no idea! All I do know that it's going to be my longest fic yet. The plot that I want is really complicated and rather long (I'm hoping that I don't lose readers over this!), but I hope to give it a bit of everything. The only thing that I can really tell you is that it will be split up in to three parts. They'll all be under The Demon In Me though. I'm still currently working on the last installment of my series and it's really tedious and tiring. I think it's just best for me to keep it this way, that way I won't be tempted to just abandon the fic. And that is something that I definitely don't want to do.

When will we start to find out more about the voice Draco hears? I'm so intruiged by it.

I know I have everyone wondering about the voice! No, Draco isn't going insane, but many people have thought that. It's something really complex and when you think about it, downright monstrous. I'm not entirely sure when it'll make it's debut, but I know for sure that you will see it in action in Part II and Part III of TDIM.

3. Was is hard to write Greyback attacking Draco? (I mean he is so yummy! lol)

Hey lovely! I'm glad that you stopped by! I left you some questions on your Meet The Author page if you haven't already checked! Anyway, questions are awesome, let's answer them, shall we?


1. As you probably agree, tackling a dramione in 6th year is a tough one. How difficult was it to write Draco's pov in The Demon In Me?

It was pretty difficult in the beginning. I had never written in Draco's point of view before so it was kind of hard. I had also never written a semi-dark fic before, so that was a challenge as well. I think that getting the concept or idea of a dark Draco is the easy part. I mean it's a different thing entirely when you begin writing and actually have to put everything down into context and see if this would be something he would do or not. It's difficult, but it's well worth it!


2. What's your 2 favorite and least favorite ships to read on hpff?

Hm.... that's a bit tough for me now. Haha. Obviously Dramione would have to be my #1 pick, but I have to say that the next is a four way tie between Scorpius/Rose, Teddy/Victoire, Lupin/Tonks, and James/Lily. I particularly like reading Marauder fics, they are so witty and fun.

My least favorite ships are kind of hard too. I'm not the biggest Ron fan, never was, never will be. I thought that he was all wrong for Hermione and that she needed to be with someone who was closer to her caliber or more worthy of her. Hence why I got into Dramione's in the first place. Come on, we all know that Draco is no fool. So no Ron/Hermione for me.

I guess the other would be Ginny/Draco. It's just difficult for me to wrap my head around that concept. Ginny is so volatile in her emotions and Draco... Idk, they just don't work out in my head. I used to be anti Ginny/Harry becuase I absolutely hated her character. She just kind of seemed like a tag-along. Also the fact that it was Harry and I thought that whoever he was with should also be worthy of him, not love him because he was 'Harry Potter the boy-who-lived'. But... I've gotten over that and I'm quite fond of them now.


3. Who is the hardest character for you to write?

The hardest character for me to write would have to be Draco... but now there's also the new Hermione. They've changed so much over the months that they were apart and I have to make sure to keep Dracos character in check. I've changed him some too because, well who wouldn't change after being on the run for so long? But I need to make sure that I don't lose him and his persona. He is still a Malfoy and that's something that I don't want to lose.

Aside from him, Hermione is also difficult. She's changed a lot too, hardened from war and being left behind. She's seen a lot of bad things and her rose-colored glasses in which she used to view the world have officially shattered. Personally, I love it. She was always far too weepy for me in the books. I wanted to make her stronger.


4. What inspired you to write The Demon In Me?

Ooh, that's a tough one!

Well I can say that the fact that there weren't many dark Draco fics out there really added fuel to the fire. I had kind of just got fed up with all the fluffy Draco's out there. I mean, even I had written one like that for my Feelings series! Definitely not my shining moment, lol. Anyway, I have always wondered about what Draco was feeling and how it was like for him during Half Blood Prince. He seemed so broken and scared, I loved it. So I guess that did it. Rowling did a fantastic job with creating more depth in his character. He was no longer the shallow Slytherin from the previous books. There was substance.


5. What's tougher to write: action or romance?

Hmm... I think that both are a bit difficult to write, but in their own unique way. I'm an action girl, I love car explosions, sword fights, being on the run. That's just me though. But I also love a good romance and not the stupid kind that make Draco and Hermione fall for each other instantly. What I try to do is weave the romance aspect into the action bit, but not so much that it over powers it (you will DEFINITELY see more of that as the story continues). So I think that they are both equal in difficulty. But when I get into a good fight scene, man, I do my research!


6. Dramione's are my favorite, are there any you would recommend for me? I like ones with action and romance, like yours obviously haha.

Ok, it's confession time! There is this one amazing Dramione that I stumbled upon forever ago, but it's absolutely fantastic! It's were I got the inspiration for the beginning of Part II and how I'm kind of building up the relationship between Draco and Hermione. Obviously, I'm not going to do something so shallow as to steal the plot, but there are some parts in there that I feel are genius! I think that you would really love it. It's called The Beast Within by La Rubinita on Fanfiction.net so go find it, read it, and tell me that it isn't one of the best stories out there!

Hey Laura! Thanks for taking the time to post on here. I'm glad that you've enjoyed the story so far and thanks for the countless of wonderful reviews that you've left me! Alright, let's go answer some of your questions, yes?

1. This voice Draco hears, who is it? I mean, is it Voldy? Is it his father? or is that something that we're just gonna have to wait and see?

Haha. Sadly, yes, it's something that you'll have to wait and see. But no it's neither Voldemort, nor Lucius, nor anyone else that Draco knows. This is the beginning of a character that's going to make a bit of an impact in Draco's life. I guess if I had to give an example, he's going to be the snape from Genesis. Always going to be tempting Draco in the ways of naught, but that's all I can say! For now, anyway.


2. What is 'THE BLOOD'? And why is Bella and Voldy so frightened of it?

I can't tell you what exactly the blood is yet, but I have to admit that seveal people are pretty close as to what happened to Draco. But it's nothing good, it's quite monstrous and fearsome if you think about it. I think Voldemort realized that and has informed the Death Eaters of it. It's not something you want to mess around with, trust me. Would it make you happy if I told you that I've already typed up the chapter that explains what happened to him? The only bad thing about it is that it won't be up for quite a while seeing as it's further into Part II.


3. Was it hard to write Greyback attacking Draco? (I mean he's so yummy! lol)

It was a bit difficult to write, but not for reasons you'd think. It was difficult because belive it or not, I wanted to make it a bit more gruesome, but darn HPFF and their restrictions! Anyway, I have to totally agree with you that Draco is indeed a very yummy specimen! Haha.


4. Will Hermione ever go to Draco? Relationship-wise I mean.

She will eventually, but things are pretty difficult right now for her. She's got to deal with a lot of conflicting emotins, as does he, so there really isn't much time for them to just sit and think about romance and their feelings. Of course, being the sucker that I am, I'm going to sneak some in anyway! Haha.
